What was your favourite meal as a kid?
My favourite food as a kid (and today for that matter) was pizza. I’ve always loved that pizza is infinitely customizable. Thin crust, deep dish, Neapolitan, and beyond, I’ve never met a pizza I didn’t love. Green olives will always be my #1 favourite topping.
Which food trend are you currently obsess with?
The food trend that I continue to love is pickling and fermenting. It’s such rewarding process and I enjoy learning the science that makes it possible (not to mention the delectable result). As a cook, I’m always studying culinary history, and I think traditional pickling and fermenting techniques provide an incredible window into food cultures of the past and present.
What’s the best part about your job?
The best part of my job is knowing that the work we do has a positive impact on people’s lives. Whether its less stress in meal planning, more time to spend connecting with family over new cuisines and techniques, or just a delicious dinner, I’m privileged to share my love of food with others.
