Meet Ian, Customer Success Manager at Chefs Plate
What was your favourite meal as a kid?
I think I would have to say Fish and Chips. It was a classic Sunday lunch with my family we got at a little fish place down the road from my childhood home. In addition it was a consistent tradition during our summer camping trips to Killarney Provincial Park. Never actually made it at home, but there is a great emotional resonance to it.
Which food trend are you currently obsess with?
To be honest I’ve never been much of a foodie in that sense. Don’t get me wrong, I love food and I can always appreciate a great meal but the trendy foods seem to come and go so fast that I can’t keep up (luckily we have a superhuman culinary team for that at Chefs Plate). That being said, I’ve really grown to appreciate the renewed focus on home cooking over the last couple of years. Its very easy to go out or order in, but the process of making my own meals, working together with my wife to put dinner on the table each night is definitely something I’ve come to love.
What’s the best part about your job?
Its the stories I get to hear from customers about the ways in which Chefs Plate has helped their lives. Parents teaching kids to cook with our recipes, making life easier for those going through illness or hardship, to just making a busy life a little easier, it is all absolutely amazing to hear the impact that we have on peoples’ lives.
I enjoy ordering Chefs Plate each week for a myriad of reasons. Top among them has been the convenience of not needing to shop or plan meals. My life over the past year has gotten increasingly hectic but I’ve been able to rely on Chefs Plate to give me one less thing to worry about each and every week.
