What was your favourite meal as a kid?
Chicken in gravy, steamed white rice, with boiled (from frozen of course) peas & carrots. This was a staple meal for the family growing up. The aroma of the chicken cooking in the oven, with that gravy was intense! That alone takes back down memory lane. I always think of the food that my family cooked, but that dish is definitely #1.
Which food trend are you currently obsess with?
Currently obsessed with fermented foods. My partner and I experiment at home on occasion with homemade ferments, from quick pickles to longer ferments like kimchi. These have become a staple in my diet and I just cannot get enough of the taste! Next step is trying out some mustards.
What’s the best part about your job?
The best part of my job is simple. I love interacting with our vendors daily, to see what products can be used on our menu’s & ensuring we source the best possible product we can during that season.
