(3) Create a scavenger hunt at your local grocery store
Turn your weekly grocery shopping into a game for your kids. Our friends at Second Harvest came up with a fun scavenger hunt at the local supermarket. Give your children a list of items that you need and have them look around the store. You can visit a Farmer’s Market as well and compare what you find. It’s a great way to teach your children about certain ingredients.

We’re so lucky to live in Canada where you can be both in the city and out in the lush countryside in less than 2 hours drive! Choose a nearby park or even research urban hikes (you’ll be surprised at how many urban trails there are!) and take your kids out for an adventure. Hiking is a great way to relax, connect with nature, and enjoy time with your family. Bringing your kids along can be rewarding for you and for them as they see their city through a new lens!
